Another New Beginning...

Long time no see, hope you missed me ;) So...this is the pre-exam period...very niiceee lool. A lot, a lot, a lot has happened in the last few months lool I went to Ghana to visit the family which was awesome, I had to go through the Clearing process as I didn't get what I need to to get into Leicester :( and to be honest, I have only just sorted that out. I'll be going to Nottingham Trent Uni in a couple weeks and it looks like it is going to ace ^^ I'll be studying International Relations with Chinese and Japanese on the side >< If you're shocked then you reeeallllllyyyy do not know me at all :p 'twas to be expected that Japanese especially would hold some sort of major place in my Uni life ^^
I'm actually quite scared as well, I'll be quite far away from all my dear amigos and my dear city, which I have a love/hate relationship with. I'm a London Girl, what can I do?! lol.
The wit isn't flowing as well as it usually is this time, I'm shattered and stressed and feeling tense. I'm dealing with wayyy too much; packing up for my new place in Nottingham, general stress of life, wondering if my other half is ok or not as I haven't really heard from him in over a week and feeling shit as there is nothing I can do :(
Well I'm back, I'm writing, it's 1.04am right now and I'm chilling with Travis McCoy in one ear and Paul Weller in the other, I'm as chilled as I can be.
I sit here with inquisitive eyes, waiting for what what the week will bring. Joy, pain, thrill, sadness, I look forward to any possibilty...at least I'm alive to live it, with friends and family who I truly love. In that fact alone, I feel fulfilled...kinda :p
I'll be posting the 'Ghana Files' at some point. It documented my time in Ghana and it may be worth a read.
Until my next post...
Adieu for now <3

Holiday Files no. 1
The Ghana Files (Blogging in Africa)
26 July – 18 August 2010
Day 0 = Went to Heathrow airport, ate at a nice Italian cafe (Carluccio’s), finally bought my straw hat, bought some epic cosmetics. Flight-wise, journey was long, children cried to the point of me wanting to kill them, food was mediocre, listened to a Beatles album = ace, epic views. Got to Grandpa’s place, nostalgic, no pillow and a hard bed O.o
Day 1 =  Getting back into Ghana life, Grandma, Aunt Dolly, Aunt Robbie and Uncle Paul came to visit, got a pillow, had some epic tuna and pasta thanks to AD
Day 2 = Getting ready to shop, realised we only brought along 1 side of a shoe for AC, went to shopright, got a new hair style and rhea hacked her hair, drove around a bit, ate some pizza, missing Goku and my boys and girls T_T, found out that Uncle Paul approves of Goku and I >.< Really starting to get into Spanish Novellas (Storm in Paradise), I’ve been bitten already O.o
Day 3 = Had a beauty day – eyebrows and stuff, first experience of Ghana internet...not impressed is all I’m saying, AC found the other side of her shoe – bad auntie scatter’, first contact with my buddies back home miss them a lot.
Day 4 = Woke up way too early, went to the opening of a new school in Tema twas very cute, watched AC and UP’s engagement video...I never knew a Ghanaian engagement was such a big deal O.o scary, starting to think about what holiday home I’d want in Ghana, went to visit AD and she made some awesome nommage, Ghana is wayyy too polluted I may pass out if we go on another motorway O.o getting way too addicted to Fan Ice lool, Bite is starting to turn ugly :s Just seen the MOTHER OF ALL SPIDERS WTF?!?!?!?!? O.o
Day 5 = Went to this epic hotel today called Golden Tulip, It was a proper holiday resort with epic food and a fab pool, sorted mum’s birthday meal we’ll have it at the hotel. Still haven’t been to a beach or La Palm L
Day 6 = Went to Grandma’s for dinner, she cooked some awwweessome spinach stew with yam and tuna >< I must say it was a very strange experience drinking beer with my Nan lool, came home and just chilled till it was time to go to bed, the usual Spanish novella mishaps came up
Day 7 = Tasted AD spring rolls today...all I can say is...DAAAAMMMNN they are sooo good, I’m going to see if she can make us a load for when we head back to LANDAN :p lool, went to visit AR at her work...quite boring to be honest, the more this holiday goes on the more alone I feel and the more it becomes apparent that I’m practically invisible in the family’s eyes when it comes to Rhea and I, spoke to Ebsy for a bit...through her I checked my student finance ^^ GOD PLEASE HEAR MY PRAYER AND GET ME INTO LEICESTER >.<
Day 8 = Today was quite boring and relaxing, Rhea and I stayed at home while Mum and AC went to the market O.o  Had the “Big Sis lil Sis” chat...think it went well lol, more spring rolls today :P, Rhea’s bites are getting worse it seems, finished reading ‘Norwegian Wood’ in my time of solitude...twas quite melancholy but at the same time brilliant, moody yet really sexy at times, so much death in it though but still had me wanting to go on...definitely one of favourite books
Day 9 = Yet another boring, crazy day at home, Rhea was in a state due to her “girl thing” so I woke up to a major circus, watched African movies with Mum and Rhea after doing a bit of spring cleaning, still no sign of an adequate functioning internet service =_= I can’t believe I still have not eaten fufu, banku, kebabs and all other types of nommage in the time we’ve been here...very disappointed, at least we had Tampico lool still waiting on the Muscatella though =.= Still thinking of ways to break the law so Loz can have her Ghanaian Mango and I, my spring rolls...damn you customs and your tight restrictionnnssss, As I watched the Sun set playing some random Beatles tracks, I felt totally at homer for the first time since we arrived, later in the day my craving for fufu was fulfilled lool so it can come off my list of things to eat here...I’m getting slimmer from all this heat by the way :p
DAY 10 = Last night was probably the worst night I’ve had in a long time, and I’m taking into consideration all the all-night revision sessions O.o The basis of it was...I COULDN’T SLEEP TO SAVE MY LIFE O.O I was praying for sleep, tossing, turning but all I could do was wake my mum up and chat to her for a bit till she got annoyed and wanted to sleep again. The day was really long as well; we travelled to “Mo-Town” to a church thingy, at 9am. Twas not impressed. All I can really say is, Rhea went in an annoying troublesome teen and came out my loving baby sister. She was actually blessed >.< Apart from the odd EXTREMELY stupid question from my aunt (‘Can Rheane read and write?’...I mean, WTF?!?! ‘Can Rheane read a text message?’...seriously WTFF?!?!?!?!) After all the nonsense, we went to buy some hair for me and some ice-cream ^^ since it was a really, really, really hot day, the ice-cream was well received, tbh any time of the year ice-cream will be greatly received lool :p We then  visited my mum’s BFF lool He’s really cool. Going off topic for just a sec, I really, truly, seriously never realised how many Asians there are in Ghana O.o I mean, It’s like a mass scale of Asian’s, not White, Not Nigerian (and they are rising in number O.o) but Asian. To be more specific, Chinese and Koreans. Ok, observation over, back to normality. So, when we got home, I had the mother of all headaches, so I went to bed after a bit to eat. As I’m trying to get to sleep, and I’m going to be honest I really felt like killing the person responsible, one of our idiotic tenants start to pound fufu. Now, if you have never heard someone pounding fufu, it sounds like someone whacking a brick wall with a mallet, a very big one. So, there I am in excruciating pain and someone wants to make it worse. So that was me all day, in pain. But you know what? Thank God I have such an insane Aunt lool. To get them back for killing me and this was when I was feeling a bit better, she decided she was going to burn a huge pile of branches and stuff in the yard and not tell them lool. It was funny and pretty to watch. Ok, my Aunt isn’t a pyro, it needed to be done but she decided to do it with spiteful intentions lool. So that was my day, not my best but I did get a great night’s sleep ^^ (Seriously....I didn’t expect this to be that long O.o)
Day 11 =
Day 12 = HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY MUMMY DEAREST lool would you believe she is 50? She really doesn’t look it O.o After taking a load of pics around the home; we went to Golden Tulip for dinner. It must be the best hotel in Accra alongside La Palm. It was so beautiful and the food was amazing, especially the dessert. We met some really friendly Belgians who were staying at the hotel, and I think one of the guys had a crush in Nan O.o lool, she’s still got it, even at 75: p
Day 13 = Mummy’s surprise party day ^.^ looks like she had a fabulous time. She wore another gorgeous gold dress which put her “girls” on show. Everyone had a major eye-full lool.
Day 14 = Woke up this morning to find ELEVEN bits all over my body...FMMMLLLL o.O I’m so beyond not impressed. I really am having enough of this environment.
Day 15 = Went to a detox place today, twas very strange. I met the strangest guy lool I think he may have taken a liking to me O.o saying all sorts of odd things like ‘I’ll die and wait for you in another life’. Tbh, I was creeped out but strangely flattered lool. Well, I’m already taken so meh lool. In the evening, we went out for a Chinese meal in the evening, was sooo nice. It felt like I was back in China Town (My home, I miss you L)
Day 16 = went to La Palm finally today, wasn’t bad. Saw ‘Old Accra’ lol and a poster of my great-Uncle dressed in a Chief-like getup as he is the Chief Jamestown...niiceee. Even though La Palm was great, it still didn’t beat Golden Tulip, twas classier by faarr.
Day 17 = Nothing happened today, just chilled at home with Rhea. Had a chance to organise my iTunes; managed to find a lot of music just floating round my hard drive. Even though we didn’t appreciate
Day 18 = Back to waking up at 9am, went to see a place that helps deaf people in Ghana; seriously interesting stuff. We might be working with them more in the future. You know what? If it wasn’t for AD, I think I may get seriously bored with the food and go hungry lool I’m just saying; she is reeeeaallllyyy good. Went to the cinema finally and it was pretty good ^^ Saw Inception once again though...still loving it ^^
Day 19 = Spent today at home, chilling with the little sis. Got some blessings family-style from some priest dude
Day 20 = Went to Akosombo today to check out the dam that controls the electricity in Ghana. It was so pretty and serine, I’ll defiantly have to spend a longer time there when I come next time. We spent some time at the Volta Hotel, which is situated by Ghana’s largest river, River Volta.  A pretty nice place but the food let it down. It’s becoming official, Golden Tulip is too awesome. Spoke to Lozzle for the first time this holiday, I’ve missed her so much L I’ll call Goku tomorrow hopefully.
Day 21 = GAFD, ART FAIR
Day 22 = Had another day at home
Day 23 (Going Home Day) = London Town, I’ve missed you!!!! But you know, I’m actually going to miss Ghana this time…I actually had a  great time with the family. I wish I could see them more often. Well when I return…there will be a baby to play with!!!!! Eeeeeeekkkkkkk!!!!.
Well, you will be seeing me soon, my gorgeously odd Accra ^.^
